MULTIMEDIA EQUIPMENT

Funds for AV equipment can come from various sources.

1. Funds are provided for  each campus from the 2003 Technology Bond for certain items of campus technology. http://www.cfbportal.org/2003Bond/phase1.html

2. Audiovisual equipment for individual schools is purchased with supply funds requested by the building principal/site-based committee;

3. PTA's may provide supplemental funds for equipment.

4. Funds can be allocated from the Director of Technology.

Configuration sheets have been created by technology teams for each level (elementary, middle, high school) to describe what should be in every classroom by the end of the 2003 Bond program.  To supplement those items, the district Audio/Visual Equipment Bid Sheet is available online to request other new equipment.  The sheet is based on bid quotes and specifications; prices and models will vary.  Requests should be made to the principal.

Items may be purchased any time there are building funds, PTA funds, or special funds (i.e., grants) available.

Purchase orders are generated by the District Media Center for bid and other AV items.  All that a campus needs to do is call or email with the item number and a budget code, and the item or items will be ordered and delivered to the campus. The DMC will send copies of the PO's to librarians and/or secretaries.  The DMC will also send notification of building accounts.

A copy of the PO will be sent with the order.  The Librarian is responsible for barcoding and processing items in the library management system; serial numbers should be recorded for equipment records in the building and the business office.   You may want to keep an EXCEL spreadsheet as an inventory; you can transfer data to the business office digitally.
