Business Law Home Page

Business Law is designed for the students to analyze the social responsibility of business and industry regarding the significant issues relating to the environment, ethics, health, safety, and diversity in society and in the workplace. The students learn to apply technical skills to address business applications of emerging technologies. This course is taught as a "College Prep" course. I will give them specific due dates for assignments and if the assignments are not turned in on time, the students will receive a ZERO. The only exceptions to this rule will be for verified absences and then in accordance with school policies.
Students will also develop a foundation in the economical, financial, technological, international, social, and ethical aspects of business to become competent consumers, employees and entrepreneurs. The course incorporates a broad base of knowledge that includes the legal, managerial, marketing, financial, ethical, and international dimensions of business to make appropriate business decisions.
Because this course is for one semester and there is so much to cover in the semester, the students need to be sure to be in class every day with their book and they must stay up with reading and other assignments. Their overall grade depends on this. The homework assignments will consists of reading chapters each week and taking good notes from their reading. They must also take good notes from the classroom lectures and participate in classroom discussions of each chapter. They will receive grades on all of these items.
The students will be given various tests over Units, Videos, and Chapters. The tests will all be summative grades (60%) and the vocabulary, crossword puzzles, and note taking assignments will be formative grades (40%).
