CO2 Egg Crash Cars for 2007 For my second year and PreAP Science students, they attempted the construction of cars which would protect a hard boiled egg from breaking as it hurtled down the track. The purpose of this was to look at the safety aspects of automobile manufacturing and try to incorporate them into their designs. The students really enjoyed the challenge. All of the students succeeded in making a car which would protect their eggs while they traveled down a 40 foot track. First Run, the car crashed into a pillow. Second Run, the car crashed into a block of wood. Third Run, the distance was reduced to 20 feet and a block of wood. Two students produced cars which protected their egg for all three races. Better results are predicted for 2008
