Daily Planner and Orange Conduct Folder

The daily planner and orange conduct folder will be sent home daily.

*Parents need to sign the daily planner every day to verify that they have seen the homework.*

Math

Your child will have math homework every night Monday- Thursday.  Your child has a math notebook which should be used as a resource in assisting them with their homework.

Students are encouraged to go to helpful links and visit the math websites I have linked to my site.  There you will find information regarding ways in which they can earn bonus points!

Parents please note:   C-FB ISD requires teachers to use strategies that might not be familiar to you. Please note that teachers are required to teach these strategies. Your child has practiced these strategies in class and should be able to use them.  We will discuss the homework each day in class, so that students will have immediate feedback.

Reading

Your child has a goal of reading 100 minutes every week.  To help ensure they meet this goal I suggest that they read 20 minutes every night.  They need to make sure are documenting their reading on their reading logs.  Failure to do so will result in the student reading during their recess to make up their minutes.

Science

*They will have a science quiz every Friday.*

They have a science spiral which is where their science vocabulary should be written.  They need to study their words nightly and not wait until Thursday night.  Their vocabulary will be checked to make sure that they have included pictures on Friday.

Science Vocabulary List

Please note:  We are making sure that the students will be successful when they reach fifth grade and have to take the Science TAKS.  It is very important that they start now developing their vocabulary.

Students are responsible for copying down all homework and spelling words correctly.  They will also be held responsible for getting their homework completed nightly.

The week after winter break is the last week that planner will be checked on a daily bases in the afternoon in order to transition your child for fifth grade.

Homework has been explained in class and is a review of what has been taught in class daily.
