Students attended a field trip to The Native Lands as a culminating
activity to the study of the migration of people. Upon
returning, students created PhotoStory movies to reflect on what they

In Social Studies, students participated in a unit of study on
inventions and inventors. Along with learning about past
inventions and how they affect our lives today, students came up with
an invention of their own. Using Microsoft Word, they wrote
their plan for an invention. See the sample below.

In a second Social Studies unit, students learned about factors
that influence employment and unemployment. They learned how to
create a resume and even had a mock interview to get a job. See
the sample resume below.

students were asked to create a commercial to promote their invention.
These commercials were aired on "Gator TV", their school's television
