Latino College Scholarships

  Our University Liaison will provide former or current immigrant and/or English language learners (ELL) an opportunity to achieve and enhance the process of post-secondary education. We will work closely with you and the area universities or colleges to enroll you into their academia.

Internet Scholarships

DFW International Scholarships

BEAM Scholarship - $1,000 (due by March 20, 2009)
Scholarships awarded to students who at one time or another were in a bilingual or ESL program based on academics, leadership & financial assistance. Scholarship also available to paraprofessionals or university students with an education major and bilingual or ESL minor. 
Wal-Mart Scholarships - $1,000 - $13,000 - Applications online beginning Nov 1, 2009
Scholarships awarded to students based on academics, leadership, volunteering, and character.  Scholarships also available to employees and children of employees.  See link below for details. 

TWU Scholarships - $1,800 yr - March 1, 2009
Students must have all paperwork completed for admission to TWU and the FAFSA submitted by March 1st - of the senior year.  Click on link below for more info and application.


UNT Multicultural Scholarship - $4,000 - March 15, 2009

For students attending UNT.  Must have UNT application submitted by March 28th.  Must have a score of at least 1000 on the SAT (Math/Verbal) OR 21 on the ACT. Preferably should be in the top quarter of their class.   Scholarship is for $1000 per year for 4 years. 1 Letter of Recommendation required.


University of Texas Arlington Maverick Promise - Full Tuition & Fees - April 1, 2009
UT Arlington will provide grant assistance to cover all fall and spring in-state tuition and fees for undergraduate Texas residents who have a family income of $65,000 or less, receive a Federal Pell Grant, and who are admitted and complete the financial aid application process including all required forms by April 1, 2009. Students who apply for financial aid after this date and meet the other conditions listed will be awarded grant assistance on a funds available basis.

North Central Texas College - $500 to $2,000 Scholarships - Due April 15th
Attend North Central Texas College at either the Corinth or Gainesville campus.  Application can be submitted online or in paper form.  Paper copies available in TS Office. IF submitted online must still mail in copy of high school transcript and up to 3 Letters of Recommendation (optional - but recommended).  Click the link below to print application or fill out online.

UNT Emerald Eagle Scholarship - Full Tuition - April 15
Must have all application paperwork to UNT and FAFSA submitted by April 15th.  Student must be a member of a family whose adjusted gross income does not exceed $40,000.   Student must also sign a statement of commitment to the Scholarship Program and maintain 15 hours of coursework each semester.  See website link for all details.  Student is considered for the program once application to the University is complete. 

TWU FSA - $1,000 - Received by May 2
Female student interested in attending TWU and must enroll in at least 12 semester hours.  Student must demonstrate leadership abilities and strong academic achievement.
