Meet Mrs. Heneghan

My name is Dawn Heneghan. I am very excited about teaching First Grade. In the past I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 5th/6th grade Science and 7th/8th grade Science. By far 1st grade is my favorite to teach. I adore being here at LCE. I have been here since 2000.

I am originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. I went to Indiana University and graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have been teaching for 11 years.

When I am not at school I like to spend time with my family. I live with my husband, daughter and two dogs. My daughter is named Allison and she will be 5 years old in October. She likes gymnastics, ballet, swimming and riding her bike. My dogs are named Holly and Spike. They LOVE to play fetch with a tennis ball. I also like to read, swim, go hiking, camping, watch the Indianapolis Colts, watch college basketball (I’m a Hoosier!) and go shopping. I have always wanted to go white water rafting…maybe one of these days.

My husband, Kevin and I absolutely love to travel. Last year we went to Indianapolis, Chicago and South Carolina. Recently my family went to Disney World in Orlando, Florida.  I hope that we will have more trips planned soon.

Here is a picture of my family.
