All About Mrs. Gilman
Welcome Family and Friends!
My name is Mrs. Gilman and I am proud to be a teacher at Las Colinas Elementary. This is my second year as a first grade teacher at LCE. Before coming to LCE, I taught second grade in the Houston area. After teaching both first and second grade, I have decided that first grade is the grade that I love teaching! I love reading new and exciting books and my first graders are always excited about sharing books they enjoy with me.
I am the oldest of three children and grew up in Allen, TX. I graduated from Allen High in 2001. During my high school years, I was very involved in the Allen Eagle Escadrille. I played the clarinet and then went on to be in the color guard. The Friday night football games and performing during the half- time shows was an experience I will never forget!
After high school, I attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. UMHB was a wonderful experience for me. Thankfully, I made many life long friends while attending school there.
I live in Lantana with my husband James. We were married on November 18, 2006. James and I have 3 nephews, Chase (11), Jacob (4), and Kobe (2). We also have one niece, Chelsea (8). I love talking about my family and I am very proud of them.
Look forward to a great school year in First Grade!!
