I was born in Victorville, California many years ago! My family moved to San Antonio, Tx. when I was just 6 months old, so I consider myself a native Texan with a little California blood in me. I graduated from Southwest High School in San Antonio, Texas. Years later I moved to North Texas and graduated from the University of North Texas (was NTSU then!) with a Bachelors Degree in Education. My first teaching position was at Valley View ISD in 1986, teaching 6th grade. In 1990, I moved to the Carrollton area and began my career with the CFBISD. Some ten years after my first teaching position, I received my Masters Degree in Counseling and am also a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been a school counselor for the last 14 years. One night a week, I work at our school district's Counseling Center supervising counselors and helping families in our schools . This is my 24th year in Education.
I have three wonderful sons named Brandon, Travis and Brett, a very playful and sweet dog named Lexi and a handsome and caring husband named Wayne. I enjoy bicycle riding, reading, spending time with my family and friends, traveling, watching a good movie when I have time and shopping!
I love the Early College High School program, as it provides a wonderful opportunity for students and their families. I am a first generation college graduate and know that my education has given me great opportunities in my life. I am grateful for all the people in my life that helped make this happen for me and am excited to be a part of our students' lives as they move through their educational journey.
