Melanie graduated from Coppell High School in 1995. She was a competitive swimmer for 12 years and a member of the Lewisville Aquatic Club for four years. After graduating high school, Melanie attended Biola University in southern California; La Mirada to be exact. During her four years of college, she worked for the Dean of Student Affairs attending to the needs of university administrators and the student orientation program. She, also, volunteered at various churches. Melanie graduated from Biola in 1999 with a Bachelor's of Art degree in Education. Ms. Freeman has taught various ages. She was an Early Childhood teacher at Newport Coast Child Development Preschool for one year in Newport Beach, California. Ms. Melanie, as she was known, returned to Texas in 2000. Melanie then taught many subjects at Merryhill School of Plano, formally Cross Creek School. She held many positions ranging from plumber to assistant principal. With being a life long learner, Melanie received her alternative certification in English and ESL and is blessed to teach high school, especially at R L Turner. She is currently working on her Master in Library and Information Science at Texas Woman's University.
