Here are some of the services we have to offer:

In class support -  We want the students in the classroom as much as possible. The CM assistants have scheduled times each day that they work with the grade level. We have found that a majority of the accommodations can be carried out in the classroom. This includes checking for understanding, providing a re-teach or review of information and working on modified assignments. We will change the schedule as needed to accommodate tests and major assignments.

Small group or 1 on 1 learning – Students that are below grade level will come to CM to close learning gaps. They will not be pulled during instruction time, and they will work with supplemental material. The goal is to close learning gaps at a fast pace, while still keeping up with on grade level instruction.

Progress monitoring - We will continually monitor the progress of all CM students. Besides progress reports and 9 week grades, we will also track Benchmark scores, Reading and Math levels and other information that is useful in tracking the progress of the students.

Screen Reader and Word Bank Software – We have a variety of technology and software programs available to assist students in Reading and Writing. Wynn is a computer program/scanner that is able to read aloud any document that is scanned. It also has a word processor and other AMAZING characteristics that we are excited to put into practice. We also use Co-Writer and Clicker for writing at various levels.

Audio books/other technology – We have many software and technology programs that can accomodate the students' successful learning.

Study aids – We have a variety of games and manipulatives that help build a foundation for various skills.

Tutoring – If a student needs more individualized tutoring, they can come before or after school. Contact me for a schedule.

Business lunch/recess – If a student is falling behind, or not completing work, we can set up a business lunch where the students eat in the CM room while catching up on missing assignments.

Working lunch – Students can choose to have lunch in CM to work on a project or get extra help or time on assignments.

Parent Conferences – If you are having a parent/teacher conference and would like one of us to be present to talk about the progress that we are seeing, again, let us know.

TEACHERS: We are here to support you in what you are doing in the classroom. Please let us know of any projects, tests, benchmarks and major assignments ahead of time so that we can accommodate as needed. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate. Our door is open and communication is welcomed and encouraged. Any questions about the IEP or accommodations, just let us know. Please feel free to stop by the room, (we have chocolate!) or drop an email. The only thing I ask is that we keep emails confidential, please do not use student’s names and it can be as simple as “Let’s talk.”
