10/27/08This past Saturday, the Ranchview Band traveled to Birdville Stadium to compete in the UIL Area B Marching Competition. In order to qualify for UIL Area marching, each band must earn a First Division, Superior, Rating at UIL Region Marching Contest.
21 bands from around the DFW Metroplex were in attendance. The Ranchview Band marched in semi-finals and earned a 6th place position. The band advanced to finals and competed against the top 10 bands. The Ranchview High School Band maintained its 6th place position. This marks another “first” for the Ranchview Band. The “tiny” band from Ranchview-land was the smallest band at the contest (by at least 60 people!). Our students dug in and showed some very strong bands that they were a force with which to be reckoned!
“Dynamite comes in small packages!!”
This means that the Ranchview Band is one of the top 30 bands in the State of Texas!!!!!
Please extend your congratulations to the students in the Band.
