10/14/09 Good morning everyone! I wanted to pass along some great news from the Orchestra Department:  These kids have been working on their All District and All Region music since the first day of school.  They have put in countless hours at home and at 7:15 am sectionals, and Aaron and I are really really proud of all the kids who have taken on this challenge.  All District and All Region are basically like the “All Star Team” for orchestra.  They are the very best musicians from our District and Region.   We had our All District auditions last night here at Polk.  We had 26 kids who made the All District Orchestra.  Please give these kids a big congratulations!  On Saturday, Oct. 24th, we have about 80 musicians who are auditioning for All Region Orchestra against other musicians from CFB as well as Frisco and Lewisville. Blalack MS Region Results

RL Turner Orchestra

11/10/09 I too am happy to report that RLT freshman violinist Samantha Guu has been selected into the Texas All-State Symphony Orchestra.  She auditioned and was placed into the TOP All-State orchestra. She was ranked 26th in the state  her FRESHMAN year.  Very, VERY major accomplishment. There are well over 1000 violinists who start the process and only around 400 make it to the state taping level...   Samantha will be traveling to San Antonio in February to audition for chair placement and to participate in the Texas Music Educator's All-State clinic and concert.    Please congratulate both of our fine young musicians!!!!!  Way to go RLT Lions!

 

Creekview Orchestra

The Creekview Orchestra is pleased to announce the acceptance of 15 students into the Region 24 Orchestras.  Auditions were this past Saturday at R. L. Turner High School.  This is one of the most competitive fine arts regions in the state and we are so proud of all 20 students who auditioned as well as those who were accepted.  The performances of the All-Region Orchestra will be Saturday, December 12, at Newman Smith High School.
