Polk MS Region Results 10/20/08
On Saturday, we had 54 musicians audition for the highly competitive Region 24 All Region Orchestra. Region 24 encompasses all of Frisco, Lewisville, Flower Mound, and CFB and the level of musicians in this area is incredibly high. There were about 600 students auditioning for 2 middle school orchestras. We are so proud of ALL students that auditioned because it shows an incredible amount of discipline and dedication. Each student that auditioned put in hours and hours of practice time towards this audition, and even the ones that didn’t quite get there are better musicians because of it.

Field MS Region Results 10/20/08
This past Saturday we had 13 orchestra students audition for the All-Region Orchestra. This orchestra is like an all-star group of kids, those who make this orchestra are the best of the best from CFB, Frisco, Lewisville, and Grapevine/Colleyville. Out of the 13 that auditioned we had SIX students make the orchestra!! That is a 200% improvement from last year! We are extremely proud of these students for pushing themselves to work on this HARD music.

Creekview Orchestra Creekview HS had 20 students from its Symphony and Philharmonic orchestras place in the All-Region orchestras. The students by orchestra are Symphony: Deborah Ko, Amy Gulliksen, Jerry So, Zach Stiefel, Sarah Blue, Catherine McKenas, Jialing Fang, Amanda Ewen, Hannah Green, Martin Lazo and Cory Banks; and Philharmonic: Margaret Miller, Sreejon Sen, Ethan Parent, Jaibock Lee, Connor Kehl, Ethan Ables, Andrew Hermonat, Keena Hilliard and Alaura Sylvis.

Newman Smith Orchestra 10/20/08 On Saturday, auditions were held at Creekview High School for the TMEA Region 24 Orchestra, which included middle school and high school students. There were over 1100 entries and NSHS students did themselves proud! The following students were selected:

Newman Smith had the most students make it into Region Orchestra from C-FB as well as the entire Region, which includes schools from C-FB, Lewisville and Frisco. If you have any of these students in your class please congratulate them. They worked very hard to attain this goal. BRAVO!!
