Melody -
Kindergarten students learn to identify and use their talking voice, whisper voice, shouting voice and singing voice. We will spend much of the year
learning to sing the interval of a minor 3rd (So - Mi)
in our singing voices.
We will also learn to identify sounds that are high, low, getting higher and
getting lower.
Rhythm - We use
body percussion and unpitched percussion to keep a steady beat. The steady
beat is our rhythmic focus this year. We will be keeping the steady beat
to nursery rhymes, recorded music and songs we sing. There will also be a
move to and identify music that is fast and music that is slow.
