Homework

    Your 4th grader will have about 40 minutes of homework a night. Your child will keep track of their homework in their planner.  I will write the homework on the board and give them several opportunities throughout the day to write it down.  Please look over your child's homework written in their planner and initial that day.  Please do not initial a week at a time because this defeats the planner's purpose.  The planner is a great communication tool between school and home, and it works most effectively when you look at it every day. 

Your child will have these items as homework every night:

* Spelling- Tests are every 7th school day.  Our spelling lessons for each unit take 6 days, with a test on the 7th.

* Silent reading or SQUIRT (Sitting Quietly Un-Interrupted Reading Time) for 20 minutes

First, you should ask your mom or dad to help you.

Second,  you should call a Study Buddy.

If that doesn't help, you may call my phone number at school.  That number is 972-968-1448.  I will check my messages each night by 7:00.  If your question is something that can be answered in a short phone call, I will call you back.  If you don't hear from me, then I will address it with you the next day.
