Test Correction Information!

 

Test Corrections are another opportunity for learning. 

M/C Corrections will be an opportunity for you to recapture points on the test.  It will be in essay format and will only be offered on one day both before and after school- NO EXCEPTIONS.  Check the Due Dates page to find out when M/C corrections are offered.   

Essay Correction Appointments:  Students you can schedule an appointment with me to discuss each essay.  They will be the week after you get the graded essay back and the sign up sheet will be kept in my classroom.  I will give you 5 points on your test grade.  The essay appointment is MANDATORY if you make a 3 or less.  In your group appointments, you must ask me questions that will help YOU write a better essay!  Please check the due dates page to see when essay appointments will be offered.  They require 15 minutes of your time and attention for 5 points- that is pretty easy!

FRQ Corrections (worth 5 points) will be turned in by your class time on the Friday after you get them back. 

  1. Write an analytical thesis statement.
  2. Make a list of at least 12 pieces of outside information that could be used for the topic.
  3. Choose 9 of those pieces of outside information and analyze them as if you had included them in your essay.
  4. Create an outline of what you essay should have looked like, including which paragraphs would have what pieces of outside information and specific points that should have been discussed. 
  5. Original essay MUST accompany the corrections.

DBQ Corrections (worth 10 points) will be turned in by your class time on the Friday after you get them back.

1.  Re-write your thesis statement, improving it to have more analysis, not just rephrasing the prompt. 

2.  Create an outline for your essay that is logical.  List which documents and OI you would use in each body paragraph. 

3.  Choose 8 of the documents that could have been used in the essay.  Write the document letter and then analyze the document. 

4.  Finally, choose 9 pieces of outside information and write what the information is and then analyze its historical significance. 

5.  Original essay MUST accompany the corrections.
