Text Box: Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremony

Text Box: Thirty nine students from ECHS will be inducted into Phi Theta Kappa on November 15, 2009. These  students have successfully completed twelve college credit hours or more and maintained a GPA of 3.5 or above, thereby making them eligible for membership in the Alpha Delta Pi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.  The society honors and encourages academic excellence and high character among community college students.  The Brookhaven chapter provides opportunity to develop leadership and service, fosters an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas or ideals, promotes lively fellowship among scholars, and stimulates interest in the continuation of academic excellence.
We encourage our students to accept this membership offer and the privileges you will receive.  As a Phi Theta Kappa member, students will be an attractive candidate for many scholarships from prestigious universities around the United States.

Text Box: With Thanksgiving right around the corner, this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the partnerships and the people that continue to enrich the lives of our students:  the CFBISD school board and administration, the Brookhaven faculty and staff, the Communities Foundation of Texas, the Jobs for the Future Foundation, and most importantly, the dedicated and capable faculty and staff of ECHS.
I continue to be ever mindful of how blessed I am to be on this educational journey with your students.
Best wishes for a happy holiday,
