Tips on Improving Your Grades/Class Work
1. Put your name on all your assignments first.
2. Get an organizer (planner), and write down what you need to do on a daily basis.
3. Be neater in all of your efforts, from your notes to your assignments.
4. Proofread all of your assignments before you turn them in to the teacher.
5. Begin working on each assignment the day it is assigned.
6. Concentrate when doing your work. Any distraction can hamper your focus.
7. Read things out loud to yourself to help with memory.
8. Don’t be lazy with your writing.
9. Concentrate on spelling words correctly.
10. Try to make associations when learning difficult material.
11. Don’t always select the easiest assignment when given options. Challenge yourself!
12. Take pride in your work! If you don’t, who will?
13. Listen in class. This is the very least you can do to give yourself a chance to become educated.
14. On major projects, break the work down into smaller parts, and you won’t be so overwhelmed by the whole thing.
15. Stay awake in class! You never know what you might miss! Get more rest at night when others are sleeping. You can think better when you are well-rested.
16. Try to be grammatically correct. Don’t say “me and my family” to begin a sentence. Always defer to the other person/people first: “My family and I went to the game.”
