Welcome to my Wed-Page!  I will be adding/updating items throughout the school year.  I am looking forward to a great school year!

Our Learning Goals for the First Nine Weeks

Reading- to engage in Readers workshop and learn about Memoirs. Writing- to engage in writers workshop. Spelling- to learn word patterns

Dodson's Tid-Bits

Recess- 11:10-11:30/Lunch 11:40-12:10 daily

Library- 10:00-10:30 Fridays only

My Conference Time- 1:00-1:45 daily

 Reading Instruction

Home Readers are sent home Monday-Thursday.  Please help or listen to your child read. I need the book returned inside their book bag the following day.  Thank YOU!

Spelling

Spelling Words are sent home Monday inside your child's Home Reader book bag. Please follow the following Spelling Word Homework at home.

Monday-Cut and sort the words according to its pattern represented by the bold base word on the word list.

Tuesday- Buddy Sort-- Lay down each Base Word. Have your child place their words under the correct base word.

Wednesday- Word Hunt- assist your child in looking for their word pattern in various books. Use the handout that is sent home weekly.

Thursday- Writing Sort- to prepare for the test-- write the base words at the top of a piece of paper. Have your child write the correct word under the correct base word.  Return Word Hunt to Mrs. Dodson on Friday!

Friday-  Spelling Test... YOU MADE IT!  Enjoy your weekend!!
