Word Wall Words

Word wall words are high frequency words that students will see on a regular basis in many of the books they will read.  Students should know these words by sight with  no need to sound them out.

Here are some ideas of how to practice word wall words:
 * Go on a word search!  Have student look in a magazine or newspaper and circle their Word Wall Words with a pen or marker.  Read them out loud every time you circle one.
*Rainbow Write!  Write the Word Wall words in different colors.  Say them aloud as you read.

 *Play memory!  Make 2 flash cards for each word and turn them face down on a table.  Then, turn over 2 cards and READ ALOUD each card.  Keep the cards if they match or turn them back over if they do not.  Keep playing until you match them all.
