Private instruction is available to any band students through the CFBISD
private lesson program. The private instructors are professional
musicians and are available to teach weekly lessons.
Lessons are scheduled at the convenience of both students and teacher.
The lessons are approximately 30 minutes in length. We have two
types of lessons being offered at BBMS, 'single' lessons and 'group'
lessons. A student taking a lesson alone is considered a Single'
lesson and cost $15 per lesson. Two or three students taking a
lesson together is considered a 'Group' lesson and cost $10 per lesson
per student. Checks should be made payable to the private lesson
teacher. Students are asked to pay the lessons at the beginning of
the month or weekly.
Certain expectations apply to all students taking lessons. A
complete listing of these can be found on the CFBISD Fine Arts
Enrichment Program form. This form must be signed by the student,
parent(s), lesson instructor, and band director by the second lesson.
Private instruction is an enrichment program which enables students to
learn at their own pace and receive specialized information tailored to
their individual needs. Further, regular communication takes place
between directors and private staff so that specific details can be
reinforced during both band class and private lessons. An extra lesson
per week of one-on-one instruction has a dramatic impact on the level of
satisfaction and proficiency students experience
Students playing school-owned instruments are specially requested to
study privately because of the limited availability of these
instruments, and to help ensure the success of each student using these
instruments
Our private teachers contribute significantly to the successes of our
organizations. While band directors are trained and experienced in
teaching all instruments, specialized private instruction is a valuable
tool in helping students reach full potential
Our goal is to provide each band student with the finest musical
training that we can. Private instruction is a part of this training,
and we encourage your participation. |
