On Wednesday, May 2,
2007, the BBMS Symphonic Band competed at the Peak Music Festival held at
the Murchison Performing Arts Center at the University of North Texas. The
Band performed Quintology by Richard Meyer, The Gathering of the Yeomen by
Robert W. Smith and The Earle of Oxford’s March by Gordon Jacob, edited by
David Henning.
The Band received a
Superior rating from each of the three judges and many great compliments on
a fine performance. The Symphonic Band was also named the Outstanding
Band in Class CC. This is the first time the band has been named the
outstanding band at a competition.
The judges named the
Flute Section, Clarinet Section, Bass Clarinet Section and the Tuba Section
as Outstanding Sections of the Day.
Several band members were
recognized as Outstanding Soloist. Those students recognized were: Jessica
Chun on Flute, Gabby Wang on Clarinet, Sylvia Yi on Clarinet, Negin
Dolatkhah on Bassoon and Mackenzie Hagar on Trumpet.
Mr Crowder and Mr Henning
are very proud work by the Band members in accomplishing this recognition.
The students behaved and performed like winners. |
