Peak Music Festival
MetroFest Music Festival

For the third consecutive year, our Band competed in the Springfest Music Festival hosted by Peak Music Fest .  In the previous two years, all of our groups have received superior ratings and great comments from the judges.

The Symphonic Band performed on April 23rd at the Murchison.  The Band had a great performance and received superior ratings from each of the three judges.  Both students and Staff received great compliments from audience members and members of other bands.

The Flute Section, Baritone Section and the Percussion section were selected as outstanding sections from all groups that performed that day.  The Staff felt that any of the sections could have received these honors.

The CD from that performance will be submitted to the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series competition.  Keep watching the website for updates on this competition.

The Band performed Monterey March by K. L. King, Dolce and Dance by Gary Fagan and Legend of Knife River by Stephen Bulla.

In addition to the great ratings and three sections being selected as Outstanding Sections, the Symphonic Band received one vote for
Best in Class.  This is an indication to the hard work and dedication of the band members.

Spring Band Concert

Barbara Bush Middle School Bands and the Ranchview High School Bands will presented their Taste of Ranchview Spring Concert/Supper on Tuesday, May 4th.  This concert is presented in conjunction with the Ranchview HS Band's Taste of Ranchview ('TOR') fundraiser.  This year, the 'TOR' had 18 food vendors and boy did everyone have a great time and great food.

The Band Members pre-sold over seven hundred and fifty (750+) tickets.  We also had over one hundred 'walk-ins'.

Everyone enjoyed the groups that performed.

The Sixth Grade Band performed Shake, Rattle and Roll and Jazzy Brown Jugg.

The Concert Band performed Lexington March and Nottingham Castle.

The Symphonic Band performed their UIL music.

The Grand Finale was a joint concert by the RHS Band and all 8th Grade Band Members.  Everyone loved this and plans are being made to make this a permanent part of 'TOR'.

Sandy Lake Funfest

On Saturday, May 1st, the Sixth Grade Band performed at the Sandy Lake Funfest.  This festival was very different from previous years.  The weather was not your typical May weather.  It was raining and the wind chill was in the low 50's.  The Band Members did an excellent job and did not let the bad weather affect their performance.

The Sixth Grade Band performed Shake, Rattle and Roll and Jazzy Brown Jugg.

The Band received great compliments from audience members, other band directors and students as well as the Judges.  The Band received Superior Raings from each of the three judges.  Follow this link to see pictures of this performance.

Band Staff

Last year, our Band Program was fortunate to have several enrichment teachers working with our students.  This is such an important part in the development of your students musical abilities.  If you are interested in your student taking private lessons, contact the Band Director of your student's band.

Our students received great instruction from these teachers and their progress was amazing.  We greatly appreciate the dedication of these fine teachers to our Band Program.  We hope to increase the size of our Enrichment Program next year and be able to offer more private lesson time slots to our students.

A special thanks to the parents that help support this important program.
