The C-FBISD holds an audition for middle school band members during the Fall of each school year. We use the All-Region audition music as our audition music. Those members selected through the audition present a concert the following month. The BBMS Band
had two students selected to the CFB All-District Band. Jessica Brigham
and Michelle Gye were both selected to the All-District Band. They
both play the flute and are in the BBMS Symphonic Band. We are extremely
proud of their accomplishments while at BBMS. The All-District Band
was conducted by Tony Smith, Director of Bands at North Oaks MS.
Band members from Region 20 met and auditioned for placement in one of the two bands. Some sections will have over one hundred students auditioning for placement in that section and the level of musicianship is very high. The BBMS Band had two students selected to the All-Region Middle School Band. Michelle Gye was selected on Flute and Jeffery Kim was selected on Clarinet. This is a great accomplishment for Michelle and Jeffery, as well as our Band Program. Both of these students worked very hard to be selected. We want to congratulate them as well as their private lesson teachers. |

The BBMS Symphonic Band performed at the Region 20 Middle School Band UIL festival in April. The Symphonic Band received an overall rating of Superior in Concert and an overall rating of Excellent Sightreading. This marked the first time in the school's short history that the Bronco Band had received all Superiors in the concert portion of the contest. This meant that the Band had finally reached Varsity status in UIL. I was very proud of how hard the students had worked to achieve this goal. They came close in the 1999-2000 school year, but fell just short of that goal. Everyone was every excited and proud of our accomplishments at the festival. At the 2001
UIL, the Symphonic band performed: Summit March by Bennett/Clark;
Kenay Contrast by Himes and Nottingham Castle by Daehn. |
