Reading Assignment
Here is your first assignment for
the upcoming school year,
2009-2010!
Join all your fellow classmates in
reading a book of your own choice this summer!
Choose a
book you want to read, not one you have read. We will be inviting you to read
throughout next year; this is our first reading invitation to you. Find a book that interests you because we
want you to enjoy your reading. You may
read fiction or nonfiction, based on your interests.
When you
arrive in the fall, we will be asking you to complete an assignment over your
book, so you will want to take a few notes such as title, author, main
characters, conflict (What is the problem and how is it resolved in the book?),
and what you think is the main message, author's purpose, or theme of the book.
Additionally, we will ask you to share a passage from the book, so select the
passage and keep a copy. Yes, you will
have grades associated with reading the book, so get yourself off to a great
start next fall by returning with your
book read and your notes prepared.
