I am thrilled to be at Vivien Field Middle School this year! I am an Art teacher in my 10th year of teaching. I have 6 years of experience teaching art at the High School level and coming up on 4 years now at the Middle School level.
I have a BFA in Art with a concentration in communication design from The University of Texas at Austin- Go Longhorns-. I worked in advertising for about 3 years right after college, then took time off to have a family. After getting a teaching certificate from The University of North Texas - Go Eagles-I worked for 6 years at DeSoto High School - Go Eagles- and then moved to the north Irving area and worked at Barbara Bush Middle School for3 years -Go Broncos-. Now I am excited to be spending my first year at Vivien field Middle School- Go Vikings!

I really enjoy the enthusiasm of Middle School students. A number of my students have won awards in local contests and one of my students won a local Transportation Art Contest last year!

I continue to explore my own art making. Every summer I take a drawing, painting, ceramics or printmaking class at Brookhaven College, our truly fabulous, progressive and active Community College in Farmers Branch. This summer I took a Painting class and a Ceramics Class. |
