Q:   What are the dates of summer school?

A:   Elementary - Monday thru Friday, June 11th - July 11th.
A:   Middle School - Monday thru Friday, June 11th - July 11th.
A:   High School - Monday thru Friday, June 16th - July 3rd - 1st Session.
A:   High School - Monday thru Friday, July 7th - July 25th - 2nd Session.
A:   Learning the Language - Special Education - ESY - Monday thru Friday: June 11th - July 11
A:   Exploration Academy (General classes, SAGE, & Amateur Naturalist)
- Monday thru Friday, June 16th - July 11th.

Q:  When will I know if my child will have to attend summer school?
A:   As soon as your child’s home campus TAKS scores are back, students should be receiving information.  For course or absence failures, home campus counselors will be contacting parents during the final two weeks of school.

Q: Will I have to pay for summer school?

A:  If your child failed one or more sections of the TAKS test, NO. 
A:  If your child is required to attend due to course failure or absence failure, YES. THE FEE IS $150.
A:  High School tuition will be $140 per 3 week session.
A:  Exploration Academy (General classes, SAGE, & Amateur Naturalist) tuition will be $150 for the 4 week session.


**Only checks and money orders can be accepted.
**Reduced fees of $75 will be offered for students who are on free and reduced
lunch during the normal school year.
**Home campus principals are available to discuss individual family financial needs so that no student is deprived of remedial services.

Q:  What will happen if my child does not attend mandatory summer school?
A:  If your child chooses not to attend (or is removed for disciplinary reasons) he or she can be retained in their current grade level. Home campus principals along with the campus attendance committee will review each individual student case.

Q:  What are the school times?
A:   Elementary Schools:  8 am to 12 noon.
A:   Middle Schools:  8:50 am to 12:40 pm.
A:   High School:  7:45 am to 1:00 pm.
A:   Learning the Language:  7:30 am to 1:30 pm   *breakfast and lunch available at no charge*.
A:   ESY:  8:10 am to 12 noon.

Q:  What is the dress code for summer school?

A:  Please click on your school's homepage for specific student dress code instructions.  Please be certain that midriffs are covered and shorts are close to knee length.

Q:  How does my child get to school?

A:   Transportation will be provided for High School, Exploration Academy (General classes, SAGE, & Amateur Naturalist), Learning the Language, ESY and campuses not meeting at their normal site.

Q:  When is registration?

A:   TAKS failures are automatically registered. You will be notified by your campus that your student must attend.
A:   Absent/Course failures must register at individual campus.
A:   Learning the Language - confirmation will be sent home with your child in mid-May and is due back at school by May 18.

Exploration Academy (General classes, SAGE, & Amateur Naturalist) has two registration dates.  Brochures will be sent home in late April
A:   High School registration will be at individual high school campuses. Please obtain a brochure from your child’s counselor.

Q:  Can students who are not registered in CFB attend CFB summer school?

A  Summer school is for CFB students.   If you live inside the boundaries of CFB, your child must be the eligibility criteria in order to participate in CFB summer school.
