The Texas Revolution

Celebrating Texas Chapter 9 and 10
This unit covers the Texas Revolution. Early conflicts between the Anglo settlers and the Mexican government will be analyzed and the chronicle of events leading to the Declaration of Independence from Mexico. Key battles and individuals who added to the rich fabric of Texas during this era will be studied.

Critical Questions:

  • How can differences in culture lead up to revolution?
  • Did the leaders of this time period create the circumstances or did the circumstances create the leaders?
  • What was the impact of decisions made by the military leaders of the Texas Revolution?
