Pre-Kindergarten Math - Unit V Overview

Comparing and Ordering

Throughout Unit V, students continue their algebraic reasoning by sorting, classifying, and order objects by size, number, and other properties. Students will also continue to develop measurement concepts by recognizing the attributes of length, volume, weight, area and time. Students will compare and order objects according to these attributes.

Problem solving, language and communication, connections within and outside mathematics, and formal and informal reasoning underlie all content areas in mathematics. Throughout mathematics in Pre-Kindergarten, students use these processes together with mathematical tools such as manipulative materials to develop conceptual understanding and solve problems as they do mathematics.
