Using fiction literature--such as myths, legends, and novels--as
models, students will demonstrate essential language arts
knowledge and skills in a variety of ways and will apply these
skills to write an original descriptive essay and other kinds of
essays. Students will use the writing process skills to become
more fluent and to develop more sophisticated structures in
their writing. The focus will be on developing ideas and using
literary devices to enhance writing.

novels, and how do they compare to other genres of fiction?

devices in reading to development of ideas and sentence
fluency in writing?
