Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD

Credit by Exam/Exams for Acceleration

The K- 16 Education Center at the University of Texas at Austin offers a wide array of exams for school districts to administer Credit by Exams (CBE) and Exams for Acceleration (EA). Information is available online http://www.utexas.edu/cee/dec/k16/index.php?page=credit

Dates for registration and administration of CBE/ EA are posted on the Advanced Academic Services website.  These tests are administered in late spring and in August, prior to the start of the new school year.  Parents of Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD students who are interested in having their child given CBE/EA tests may initiate the testing process by contacting the principal and counselor at their home school campus.  The principal and counselor have a CBE form to be signed by the parent and principal indicating that the parent has interest in having their child tested.  Once this form has been signed, the parent may contact

Sheri Plybon at (972) 968-4372, and she will coordinate the testing.

All CBE/EA tests are provided by the University of Texas at Austin. Review sheets from the University of Texas at Austin are available upon request. CBE and EA Tests are administered in the district.  Completed tests are sent to the University of Texas at Austin to be scored.  Test scores are sent to the parents and the Test Coordinator of CBE/EA within three weeks after the exams are received by the K – 16 Education Center in Austin.  The CBE/EA Test Coordinator, Sheri Plybon, will conduct an Admission, Review, and Exit (ARE) meeting once the test results have arrived in C-FB ISD.  Ms. Plybon will communicate the decision of the ARE Committee with the parents and the principal at the home school.
