About Me
Welcome to Texas History. Here is a little bit of information to help you get to know me. I am proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps and be a graduate from the University of North Texas. I bring first-hand knowledge of American history for our 7th grade students here at DeWitt Perry. While serving in the Marine Corps, I experienced what it meant to become part of our nation’s history. My experiences in the Persian Gulf War, Desert Shield and Desert Storm brought me to the teaching doorstep while volunteering for the Junior Achievement program. My calling for teaching our nation’s history was further enhanced while serving as the Chaplain for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8923, where I guest lectured area North Texas schools from 1995-2001. In the 2001-2002 school year, I interned at Creekview High School where I learned from the best and helped teach Pre-AP World History, World Experience, and Global Experience classes. After officially joining the CFB family in 2002, I helped open Ranchview High School where I served as a GT History teacher and Varsity Football/Powerlifting Coach until an injury ended my coaching career. My calling has now brought me to our students here at DeWitt Perry. I'm looking forward to a great year of learning with your student. Welcome aboard!
