ANNOUNCEMENTS

BBMS Memory Garden Celebration!
Thursday, May 29, 2009, BBMS celebrated the opening of a year-long effort to develop a special area outside the school's cafeteria. Different groups of students, teachers,  parents, and school administration met to plan a "Memory Garden" dedicated as a place where people can visit  and remember special people & time spent here at Barbara Bush Middle School. Bricks, previously purchased and engraved , were laid into the patio area in honor of those who were an integral part of Barbara Bush but are no longer with us. The choir, band & orchestra performed, and Mr. Warren Scott & Sunny Shankar remembered several special people with moving speeches. Cindy Santascoy & Angie Drake, our PTA president & vice-president, officially accepted the renovations as the "Friends of Barbara Bush Memory Garden." Dr. Barry Dodson, the first principal at BBMS, & Neal Schirato, father of former coach Chad Schirato, performed the ribbon cutting ceremony. Refreshments were enjoyed by the group which included C-FB interim Superintendent, Dr. Bobby Burns and Asst. Superintendent Dr. Charles Cole. The Memory Garden is now officially open for enjoyment!
