Welcome to First Grade!  It will be a fun and exciting year.  Your children will grow in so many ways.  First grade is a very busy year in the areas of Reading and Writing.  This year we are introducing a new Math program called Investigations.  The children will love this hands-on program with many games and manipulatives used to teach important math skills. 

This year will include many firsts for your children:

*First desk

*First reading tests

*First spelling tests

*First math tests

*First "real homework"

*First time to feel "grown up"

Enjoy this year with your children and remember...

Read with them and listen to them read!  Reading is essential to their progress this year.
