The NSHS Choral Department boasts 7 performing ensembles, including Men's Choir, Cantori, Bel Canto, Varsity Men, Varsity Women, Vocal Ensemble and A Cappella.

Our choirs consistently earn UIL "Sweepstakes" honors, as well as "Superior" and "Best in Class" ratings at choral festivals around the state. We have toured to New York City, Orlando, San Antonio, New Orleans, Branson and Corpus Christi. During the 2007-2008 school year, the NSHS choral program received 4 UIL "Sweepstakes" awards, which makes us one of the most recognized choral programs in our region!

"The Voice of Excellence" is consistently well-represented at the Region, Pre-Area, Area, and State level of the TMEA All-State Choir competition. Private voice lessons are offered during the school day from highly qualified, screened and accredited teachers. A typical year includes 35+ First Division awards earned by NSHS students at UIL Solo and Ensemble Contest.
