Sharing and Adding a
Printer
To Share Your
Teacher Workstation Printer:
·
Go to Start
on the Task Bar.
·
Select
“Printers and Faxes”.
·
Right
click on your printer.
·
Select
Sharing.
·
Bullet
“Share This Printer”
o
A
“share” name appears in the textbox, (you can change it or leave it).
·
Click
Apply.
·
Click
OK.
To Add A Printer:
·
Go to
Start on the Task Bar
·
Select
“Printers and Faxes”.
·
Click
“Add A Printer”.
·
Click
Next.
·
Bullet
“A network printer or a printer attached to another computer”.
·
Click
Next
·
Bullet
“Connect to this printer (or to browse for a printer, select this option and
click Next;”.
·
In the
“Name:” box just below, type in \\yournodenumber\
o
When
you type the last \ you will see a drop down list with your printer listed,
highlight your printer name so it now appears in the “Name:” textbox.
·
Click
Next.
·
Bullet
“Yes” on this screen to make this printer your default printer.
·
Click
Next.
·
Click
Finish.
