Ms. BENNETT'S BIOGRAPHY

Born in a small mid-west town -  Oelwein, Iowa.

Sister by the name of Becky who now lives in Anchorage, Alaska. Yes, "coach" and her mom traveled there last summer! (2005)  Ask her about her trip!

Parent's name = Lee and Pat Bennett

Her mom still lives in the same house "coach" was raised in back in Oelwein.

She played high school softball, basketball, and participated in track and  graduated from Oelwein High School  in 1978.(you do the math)

Later that year, she attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa, on a softball scholarship and then she graduated in 1980. (Coach was inducted in the Waldorf College Sports Hall of Fame - October 6th, 2005.) http://www.waldorf.edu/hfw/2005/photos/hall-of-fame/index.htm

In 1980 she went on to West Texas State University (Now West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas) again via a softball scholarship and studied physical education, history, and health.

She has been teaching and coaching for 25 years. (20 being in CFB-ISD) Her first teaching and coaching job was at Wylie High School, Wylie, Texas in 1984.

She then moved to Long Middle School in Carrollton, where she worked for 15 years as a physical education teacher and a coach.

This is "coach's" fifth year at Ranchview High School where she teaches World History and World Geography. She retired from the varsity volleyball coaching position here at the "Ranch" but she still helps coach the Wolves Volleyball team at times, coaches club volleyball and gives softball pitching and hitting lessons, so if you call her "Coach" she won't mind!

Coach took a couple of adventures this summer. She traveled with Ignite International to Nicaragua and helped with volleyball clinics and traveled with the Nicaraguan National Women's Volleyball Team.                 She also jumped on her bike and rode in RAGBRAI in late July.  This is a bike ride that travels across Coach's home state of Iowa.  Ask her about her 471 mile ride.

"Coach" has recently adopted a little dog called "Skeeter."  He just showed up on her door step and how he's a permanent "fixture!"

She loves flamingos... especially puppets.  Stop by her room and see her collection.

She is a huge Roy Rogers fan also.

"Happy Trails" has

become a big part of the classroom atmosphere!
