Hints for preparing for the TAKS test:

      Practice multiplication and division facts every day

       Practice calculating elapsed time:

                  (i.e. - have your child tell you how long until bedtime)

       Practice solving everyday problems:

                  (i.e. - estimating money while shopping)

       Whenever you use math have your child use it in the same manner

Hints for the night before and the morning of the TAKS test:

       Lay out your child's clothes the night before - in the morning you won't be rushed.

        Make sure your child goes to bed early for a good nights sleep.

        Get your child up early enough to have a healthy breakfast and so you are not rushed.

        Make sure and tell your child that you are proud of him or her.

        Have your child relax and know that he or she is well prepared for the test.
