Mrs. Baar's Top Ten
Summer List

10.
Visit the
Dallas Farmers Market. Rows and rows of fresh vegetables, fruits and other
things for sale. The smells, the sights and sounds are something every child
should experience. I’ve been taking my grandson there every summer since he was
born.
-
Visit the
Dallas World Aquarium—lots more than fish are there!
- Go
outside at night to a non-lighted area (make sure you have an adult with you). Bring a
blanket and sit down and look at the sky. Can you find
Sagittarius the Archer? Can you find other constellations?
-
Visit the
Heard Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary. See animals and plants in their
natural habitat.
- Take
a ride on the
Trinity Rail Express. Once you arrive at Union Station, you can take the
red or blue line to the West End. There you can visit the
Sixth Floor Museum and see Dealey Plaza.
-
Visit the
Dallas Museum of Nature and Science. From dinosaur bones to the night
sky, there’s a lot to see.
- All
Aboard! Visit the
Museum of the American Railroad at Fair Park.
-
Speaking of trains—what about taking a ride on the
Tarantula Train. No! It is not a big hairy spider. You can catch the
train in Grapevine and ride to the
Fort Worth Stock Yards.
- Stop
at
Valley Ranch Public Library, where you can visit my friend Miss Stephanie.
- Read
your favorite books, read new books, read comic books, read all you can!!
Have a
happy, safe summer! See you in the fall!
