TAKS SCIENCE SYLLABUS

EXPECTATIONS

        1)      BE RESPECTFUL

·         Practice common courtesy

·         Be positive with yourself and others

·         Take care of school property

2)      BE READY TO LEARN

·         Bring notebook, paper, and writing instrument to class everyday

·         Be on time- seated and ready to work when bell rings

·         Personal issues taken care of before entering class (bathroom, thirst, etc.) 

PROCEDURES

           GRADES

                    40%  Formative-  daily work- worksheets, quizzes, homework, etc.

                     60%  Summative- notebook, tests

                     This is a Pass/Fail class. A 70% average is needed to pass the class.

 TARDY

Sign your name, date, and time legibly in the tardy log before going to your seat. 

*Remember, 3 tardies = 1 absence that can never be made up

             ABSENT FROM SCHOOL

                        If you are absent, it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to see me for

            any assignment(s) missed.  If you miss a test, YOU WILL BE

                        RESPONSIBLE for scheduling a time to make it up.

              EXTENDED INSTRUCTION

                        Anyone needing extra instruction or assistance in mastering the

                        material can receive it on Tuesday or Thursday mornings from

                        6:45 - 7:30.  Other sessions can be arranged if necessary.

              IMPROPER BEHAVIOR IN CLASS

                        1^ST Time            Verbal warning

                        2^nd Time            After school detention

                        3^rd Time            Parent phone call

                        4^th Time            Office referral

                        5^th Time            Conference with parent, student and/or                                                 administrator.
