Sectionals are held once a week either in the morning or after school. Sectional attendance is required for Symphonic and Philharmonic Orchestra students. Sectionals is a time for the director to be able to work sections on a more individual basis- fix problems relating to that specific section rather than the orchestra as a whole. Sectional attendance is a grade- a 100 for being there, a ZERO for not attending. If a conflict arises, the student should let the director know BEFORE the sectional is scheduled and make up their sectional on Friday morning. If this is taken care of the student makes up the sectional for a 100. If a student misses a sectional without letting the director know ahead of time, they may make up their sectional for a 70. Needless to say, students missing sectionals without making them up will have a hard time passing orchestra!
